We love getting reconition for our works, whether it is in the form of somebody choosing to use our products in their home, or from the jury in a  major design price. So recieving a iF Gold Award for our chair DC09 produced by Japanese cabinetmaker Miyazaki isu is really sweet.

The jury’s evaluation criteria included design quality, finish, choice of materials, degree of innovation, environmental impact, functionality, ergonomics, visualization of intended use, safety, brand value + branding and aspects of universal design.

Jury’s comments on DC09,  “This is a wonderfully finished wooden chair, with fantastic proportions and a sensuously sculpted seat – sensuous and exceptional.”

We have recently started sending out a newsletter, we intend to send 2-4 letters per year, only when we believe to have enough interesting material.

These letters will be a mixture of new products, exhibitions, awards and some in depth discussion about the design process, the materials and the production.

It has just been announced that Inoda Sveje has been awarded the prestigious iF product design award of the year 2011 for the chair DC09 made with Japanese cabinetmaker Miyazaki isu. We are naturally delighted about the news and will strive to keep surprising in this old field of wooden furniture in years to come.

The idea for the bike was born in 2009 by a mixed group of multidisiplinary product developers from Inoda Sveje as coordinators/designers and IPU Product development as partner in concept/technology, we all had a will to implement technology in common objects that has so far been neglected.
We held several meatings to figure out how best to make a change, and how best to make our change noticeable.
This led to the idea of a contemporary bike and a competition as lounchpad. Where we would seek to use technology that we where all ready working with as consultants in product development or technologies we believe to finalise it in a 2-3 year time frame.

The reason to make a bike with electrical transmission but not necessary with a battery (it is an option) is to give the consumer the possibility to go “100 % clean”, of course you would have to be Cancellara to create 500 Watt, but what you all ready do on a ordinary bike will be okay two.
